The three Grahams, the two Durhams and one Didhams made it to the start - Tesco car park this time not the one in New Street by the co-op. We had hoped Trevor might join us but he was prevented at the last moment. The weather wasn't all that encouraging anyway with drizzle at the start. I have been rather taken with the lanes east and west of the A388 and today was a steep climb to Launceston over Tremollet Down and on to Launceston via Lezant. 11s took place in Tesco at Launceston, where we arrived at 12.20 pm. The food queue was horrendous, but - patience being a virtue - we got served after about twenty minutes and enjoyed a leisurely chat while we consumed our drinks. John said the heavens had opened and was in a mind to return to Callington via the treacherous main road. Fortunately, he changed his mind and took the route I'd planned via South Petherwin and Trebullet, which was much more merciful than the route out. Didhams left us for the main road and bash back to ... to catch a final glimse of the Tour de France on his training bike; some people never seem to get enough of a good thing. Rain held off for the most part - not enough to give the gardens a good soak but enough to be annoying and spoil the views. Even so, we all enjoyed the route and we arrived at Tesco in Callington at 3:11 pm, in time to do some last minute shopping for the week ahead and fill up with petrol.

Due to the weather forecast we decided on Otter Garden, but even so we got wet on the way home, well the garden can do with it. I shall not be out the next 4 Sundays, so have to get your report from Bryan. I have visitors for 2 weeks and then go to the Birthday rides with Sue. Regards Anna
