Burrator - John Durham, 15 March 2015

Many thanks to John Durham, who led the ride today in  lieu of Mike Willacy, who is in Bracknell. At the start: Anna Bryant, Caroline Sage, Bryan Richardson, Sue Etheridge, Grahams Reed, Black and John, John Durham, Trevor Bradshaw. Altogether a good turn-out on a rather cold and drab March day.

The route was innovative, taking us up the trail, through Clearbrook and thence to the main road . Busy, as usual. Right then immediately left to Buckland Abbey, Buckland Monochorum. 11s were at Long Ash. We all enjoyed the long waits in service to recover from our previous efforts.  On to Buckland Monachorum Crapstone, Yelverton.  At that point John made for Douseland via the short-cut taking us over Drake's Leat. Then a quick nip-around to Sheepstor Village, where we had lunch.

I was able to show off the powers of my now electrified bike on the ascent from Sheepstor, passing Graham B and Julie on the lower slopes and Trevor Bradshaw and John further up.

The approach to Plympton was via Cadover Bridge.  From there, at the cross-roads, the rat-run to Colebridge and beyond it to Plymco.

Altogether a good day out. For me 30 miles and still juice left on the battery.
