Standing in for Graham J. we assembled at Ivybridge railway station car park, well 3 of us anyway, Myself Graham Black & Andy Prideaux. Others must have been getting over Dave Newman`s boot camp in France, see some photos at the end.
The three of us set off heading for Challaborough on a sunny day and arrived at the Brumies cafe on the sea front to be greeted by the cheerful chappie and a pot of coffee with top ups.We climbed up the track to Bigbury and then the long climb out, turning past the church we set off down the long hill to the estuary road to Aveton Gifford and then onto the Avon cafe at Loddiswell for our second break.
On our way again we decided to walk up the steep hill to Loddiswell itself and took the back lanes back to Ivybridge. A good ride with a splattering of hills thrown in, proper hills not like France, with 30miles on the clock at the station car park with another couple added to get me home.
Many thanks to Dave Newman for his French trip and his introduction to his French pals, a good trip but not my kind of riding, more for you road bike chaps, & no proper hills.
