Arrived at the station car park to be greeted by what resembled a cycling club, a good turn out this week with seven of us at the start - Myself, Graham B, Andy P, Dave Newman, Yolande, Mike Willacy and even John Durham who had managed to escape from Tavistock, there was one person absent from place of parade and that was Ted Greenberry who was probably put off by the dank weather. It was a horrible misty, drizzly day but with the hope of clearing up during the morning and coming in more heavy rain later in the afternoon.

Not to be put off by a bit of drizzle we all set off heading for Wrangaton and turning right just past the garage to the sign of the owl sign post, then hanging a left onto the lane down to Avonwick. We joined the main Totnes road over Avonwick bridge and taking the second right to join the lanes to Harberton. There was quite a lot of water about in the lanes and we had to negotiate 2-3 river crossings where the road was completely flooded before we came to the base of Yogi hill. Struggling up the hill, Mike decided to push his bike, and Graham shot up on his ebike, to greet us at the top sat like a red gnome by a christmas tree.It was then down the hill into Harberton, and then to the Nkuku Cafe.

We decided to sit inside out of the still misty dank weather, Yolande, with her first visit to this establishment, was like a child in a toy shop. I think she visited all corners of the shop looking at all the goodies on display hoping to take them all home with her, but I think the sofa was just to big to fit on her bike.

After dragging Yolande out of the shop kicking & screaming, and with the drizzle coming down again with the prospect of it getting worse later, I decided to cut the ride short and head back. So we took the back lane down to Harbertonford crossing the main road to join the lane to Rolster Bridge and then to the junction just past East Leigh and turning left to join the road we came out on. It was then up the hill to the junction at  West Leigh sign post, we took a left here to avoid the river crossings we negotiated on the way out. We followed the lanes up hill and down dale to arrive at Diptford then onto South Brent and back to Ivybridge.
We had a good ride avoiding most of the rain, although now it was starting to come down heavier, so got back just in time.I had just 28 miles on the clock.
