There were four of us at the start, Trevor, Dave N, Mike W and myself. The ride was supposed to be Princetown, but because of a weather warning that was changed to Ben's Farm Shop, just off Kitley.
Graham B turned up later having been delayed by an ambulance blocking his access in Rectory road
As we approached Wiverton there was a huge span of water ahead of us. 'Fear - Not' Trevor took the lead and charged forward and just made it, without any mishaps. Whilst the rest of us took an alternative route to avoid getting a soaking. We chickened - out, basically.
A short while later Graham caught up with us, as we were approaching Brixton, the hillier route, but drier! We were soon on the main Kingsbribge road with the farm shop not far ahead. On arrival, no sign of Trevor, however, he had already arrived ahead of us and placed his order.
After suitably refreshed and putting the world to rights we decided that we should carry on through Yealmpton and turn left, off the main road heading towards Westlake. Before long we were in Ivybridge and as predicted the heavens opened, so we bade our farewells and trundled home to Plympton. A bit wet, however, an enjoyable ride with good company.
