Quite a few people were away this weekend for various reasons, so I was wondering what the turn-out would be. I went to Plympton by mistake but learned from Graham Reed later that three had turned up at Tamar Bridge - Roger Floyd, Andy Easton and Graham. They went to Pen Silva and had elevenses at the farm shop on the main road north of Pensilva. They were back in Plymouth by about 2.00 pm.
I should have checked the runs list but ended up going to Plympton. I began to realise how Graham Black must have felt during the winter months when no one but him turned up to face hurricanes and torrential rain. Today was a bit unseasonable - cold for May but still dry. I decided to re-do the route Trevor had shown us to Totnes and Bow Bridge. Not having been out for the two previous routes, I took it fairly slowly, hoping to get some pictures on the way. I didn't go across country from Totnes to Bow Bridge, as we did before. I followed the lane above the cycle path to Ashprington. What a brute! It just went up and up and was very steep. Anybody know an easy route from Totnes to Ashprington, let me know.
Altogether 47 miles on the clock. Got home at 4.00 pm. So in all - not a bad day.
