Only one turned up at Ivybridge Railway station car park for todays ride that was Andy Prideaux, probably due to some taking part in the Tamar 100 plus Graham Black was away to the sun on holiday.
Due to the forecast of rain due around 14.00hrs we decided to do a shorter ride to Buckfast abbey cafe. This took us via Avonwick then the back lanes to Rattery up a long hill and across to Pennywell Farm and then down the long hill to Dean Prior. We called at Dean Court farm shop which is under new owners, but it was still closed on Sundays. Then it was through Buckfastleigh and onto the Abbey cafe.
Once refreshed we set off back through Dean Prior, South Brent and back to the station carpark arriving at just gone 13.00. There still did not look any sign of rain and it never arrived till about 16.30, still we had a nice outing with 27.3 miles on the clock.
Cheers Trevor
