On arriving at Horrabridge and crossing the bridge itself I decided to take the road to Plaster down. This was quite a steep endless climb and soon we had reached the summit and open moorland bestowed us. From then on it was the road to Peter Tavy a few up and downers and we were there. Tavitock was our next port of call this involved following Route 27 a combination of cycle path and B roads, on arriving at Taviistock it was decided that further refreshment was necessary to continue our journey, therfore it would have to be the East gate cafe for our luncheon stop. After lunch It was decided we should continue our journey through the Meadows circum- navigate Tavi' comprehensive and head for Drakes trail terminating at Yelverton.
The final leg of the journey was to rejoin the Plym - trail, at Clearbrook, Trevor and I parted company and home was once more on the horizon. Having arrived at base camp I had cycled 40 miles, mainly dry apart from a small shower in Tavistock, an enjoyable day.
'B' Riders: At the start were Trevor and Andy and B riders Sue, Bryan and me. Andy was going the hilly way to Long Ash, but we followed the cycle route, in spite of this they were ready to leave, when we got there. I blame the gale blowing against us on the hill up from Clearbrook. Graham Reed was still drinking his tea and went partly home with us.
