Blazing June, it was more like Grey Autumn but it did not dampen our spirits and seven turned out for the ride! I am pleased to say on this Sunday, finally after many failed attempts due to the weather and things, we scaled the heights up to the iron age fort and enjoyed the view. On the way to Kelly Bray for lunch, aided by my guidance system, we followed the route that we have been taken before but this time a diversion was made after seeing a poster for an Art Exhibition by a local artist, Mary Martin. Though it was not far away, following arrow signs we finally realised that a complete circle was made before arriving at the home of the artist!
After the visit, full of modern culture and heading towards the culture of a ancient iron age fort, it was noticed that our bodies were low on food and tea. We arrived a bit late at the Swindle Inn Pub and it was full for Sunday lunch, though finally a table was vacated and we enjoyed hot lunch for a change. The route back took us down to Newbridge and the successful visit to Cadsonbury and the return journey back to Plymouth.
32 miles and more for some.
1130m of accumulative ascent.
All the Graham's
Yolande on a borrowed bike, throughout the day there was some noises of discomfort that indicated that the bike was not suitable and would be returning back to the shop!
