Sunday May 1st- Car assisted from Plusha, led by Dave N
Present - Jennifer and John Durham, Trevor, Graham B and Dave Newman
We left Plusha in drizzle with hopes the weather may have improved, it never did! Basically we did a circuit around Bodmin Moor using National Cycle Route 3. We had coffee at The Old Inn at St. Breward, where the Staff were very friendly, just after 12.From thence to Blisand and then a tough ride back to Plusha. Trevor navigated the group across the A30, which seemed in effect like a building site, and we continued on our way along the south side of the Moor through Mount, St. Neot, Minions and North Hill. Back at our cars for 4.30 after Jennifer told us we had clocked 44 miles. Graham B thought it was a good route with unfenced roads and no high hedges thus good views of Brown Willy and Rough Tor or there would have been with better weather conditions!
"B" Riders' report:
Bryan wanted to go to the Royal William yard to inspect Yolande’s new studio, apparently she is rejuvenating old furniture. It was open day for all the studios, but we had great difficulty finding hers.
She herself was at the reception and Bryan joined the queue waiting to talk to her. There was a food market going on as well, it started to rain, so Sue and I made our way home. The idea had been to look at the forget-me-not at the remembrance garden on the Hoe, but the miserable weather made us shelf that idea.
