With the sun shining and Yolande stripped down to the bare essentials we set off for Owley then onto the outskirts of South Brent, Bill said the tail enders were coming so we turned right, and at the next junction we waited for everyone to catch up, Dave & Nicci arrived on their tandem and were leaving us to go into South Brent and returning back home. But with no more riders appearing we had lost half the pack, I guessed they had turned left instead of right and were heading for Shipley Bridge not my intended route. So I sent Bill off in pursuit, while I caught up with the others heading towards Lutton, and arranged to meet Bill at Gingaford Cross, which we finally did.
We were now down to 10 riders with Dave & Niici having left us, so headed off to Buckfastleigh via Deancombe enjoying a multitude of spring flowers on route. Just before Buckfastleigh Mike got a puncture, so we rallied round to get him back on the road. Then through Buckfastleigh town centre and onto the railway station cafe. Here we lost another two riders, Mike & Graham Reed who thought they had enough excitement for the day and headed back.
The rest of us headed off towards Staverton via Pridhamsleigh,Five Lanes, skirting Woolston Green and onto Staverton Farm Shop for our second coffe stop, lovely location over looking the river Dart.
We then headed home taking in Rattery, back through South Brent and onto Ivybridge, where Bill & myself left the rest to continue back to Plympton
