On leaving the Ridgeway we were soon heading for Plympton - St - Maurice followed by a steep climb up Plympton Hill which soon warmed us up! At the top it was left turn towards Wiverton followed by Yealmpton.
On arriving at Mothercombe the car park was open, unfortunately the cafe was closed, so that was a good start! Onwards and Upwards to the next port of call, this being Newton Ferrers. Taking a short cut through Membland we were soon at Bridgend by-passing Noss Mayo. Another climb and we had reached our destination, being the cafe, this too was closed.
Only one thing for it, Ben's Farm Shop at Kitley. This time we'd hit the jackpot, somewhere was actually open. Whist being served a loud noise appeared it was rain hitting corrugated plastic, we had just made it in time.
After having refreshed ourselves it was homeward - bound, back on the main road heading towards Yealmpton. On approaching the village and turning left, with a rather steep incline ahead of us, on reaching the summit, no Tevor. Trevor had a problem with his gears and couldn't change down, so had to walk the hill.
After running repairs we were soon mobile again and heading in the direction of Ivybridge, where Graham and I left Trevor and made our way back to Plympton. A short ride of 25 miles at least we got home dry.
