It was a raw and a grey day but it was dry for the whole day and compared to the last few rainy days, it made a welcome change. Due to the weather I had not reccyed the ride but with Trevors help we made our way to Newton Ferrers and the Village Green cafe, on arrival we found that it was closed, so immediately I activated plan B which was to go to the Ship Inn at Noss Mayo for a coffee stop and being that it was still early and cool, we sat inside for a change where it warm which made it a pleasant stop.
Afterwards to get away from the traffic I decided to take the coastal track round the headland but had not expected to negotiate so many groups of dog walkers and so much mud! Reaching dry tarmac we then headed along the narrow Devon lanes through Holbeton and Westlake and made for the Farm shop cafe at Ivybridge . Afterwards the group made there way back along the A38 route but I decided to tack the scenic route via Cornwood and drop down to Plympton where I met David and Mike at the Tesco's car park to bid my goodbye. 35 miles covered and still dry!
It never ceases to amaze us at the things you discover while out cycling, the latest revelation we discovered on Sunday is that - Mike is a AC/DC fan, having just attended their latest head banging gig at Tavistock. ( food for thought )
