Plymouth CTC Christmas Dinner 2021
Again we gathered at The Moorland Hotel which we all enjoyed 2 years ago, having had to cancel last year because of Covid. There were 21 of us this time, would have been 22 but Graham J. had to cancel at the last minute, coming down with heavy cold. Anna & Mike couldn't make it because of other commitments, & Ted because of health problems. It was a pleasant day to enjoy the views from the viewing room before sitting down for our lunch at a lovely laid out table, this time they had remembered the crackers. I had a medal to issue to all the CTC members to celebrate the 90th year of the formation of Devon CTC, Graham Brodie of the South Devon CTC had them made specially for the event. The Plymouth CTC section hadn't been going that long, but Andy Prideaux let me have the history of the formation of our section, so I could pass it on to the gathering.
We sat down to an excellent meal, with good service from the staff. From the feedback, I think everyone enjoyed their meal and the atmosphere with a good chinwag and catching up with members & old members we hadn't seen for 2 years. Thank you everyone for making it a special, memorable Christmas lunch.
Trevor
Note: If you had a card from Julie with a strange greeting, (Graham Black asked me if I recognised who it was from with this foreign language written on) It was Cornish for - Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Plymouth CTC Christmas Dinner 2019
19 Happy folk gathered at The Moorland Hotel for this years Christmas Lunch, the rain had even stopped with glimpses of the sun which gave us all a view of the beautiful vista from the hotels viewing room our location for the dinner. The staff had laid the table beautifully with us all sitting at the one table, there was a few comments as to where the crackers & christmas hats were. You will be pleased to know I tackled the hotel about this the following day, and, they where full of apologies and, did not realize they had forgotten them, but I don`t think we missed them really. It was nice to see some of our old cycling comrades ie: Julie Lang & Jean Harris, even Andy Easten managed to finally get time of work. The food was first class and everybody enjoyed their meal, Andy E. especially as he was caught licking his pudding plate.
